Seeking help is important if you are suffering from excessive amounts of stress. In small amounts, stress can be beneficial because it can help increase your focus when it is most needed. If your body is constantly in this state, it can take a serious toll on your mind. There are several methods of stress management, which consist of exercise, and relaxation.

The first step to reducing stress is to discover the source and try to limit that activity. This can allow you to experience less stress and you should begin feeling better. The problem with this step is that can sometimes be difficult to avoid a stressful situation.

If this is the case, you may need to step out of the room for a few minutes. Slow deep breaths can help you calm down and you should be ready to return to the task shortly. This is important because it helps remove enough stress to help keep you calm. By doing this, you should be able to make it through the day in a more relaxed state.

Many people bring their job home with them and this is a major source of extra stress. You should use this time to relax before going into work the next day. Try setting a few hours aside each night without access to your phone or email.

Meditation is an excellent method of managing stress. Meditation allows you to calm your mind by concentrating on breathing instead of your thoughts. This helps your mind enter a relaxed state and it can help you feel much better.

Exercise has many positive effects on your body including stress relief. Exercise releases endorphins into your body and this helps you feel more relaxed. Regular exercise also helps release muscle tension caused by stress.

If you are experiencing large amounts of stress daily, there are several options available for are exercise and methods of relaxation such as meditation.

Stress, in minimal amounts is good for the body, but is dangerous when is not controlled. Few tips on how to prevent the effects of stress on your body:

Relax. Relaxing would help your body to recharge and also energise your mind, this would free your mind from the stressful thoughts. Always have some time in your schedule to relax.
Do something you enjoy. This would take your mind off your problems and from your stressful thoughts. It would distract your mind and keep it occupied. This is a way to relax your mind.

Laugh. Laughing helps you to ease your tension. Studies shows that this would reduce effects of stress. Keep on laughing and the effects of stress can be prevented.

Adopt a healthy lifestyle:
Exercise regularly. Excercising regularly plays a key role in reducing and preventing the effects of stress. Aerobic exercise helps to release tension.

Eat a healthy diet. Those who eat well nourished meals are better at coping stress. Breakfast is the vital meal of the day, thus having breakfast is very important to have suffiecient energy and your mind clear with balanced, nutritious meals throughout the day.

Reduce caffeine and sugar. Caffeine and Sugar do provide the momentarily pleasure or “high” but it often ends in bad moods. Reduce the intake of these products would allow you to release more tension and get better sleep.

Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. Alcohol, cigarettes and drugs are very addictive. Not only is it bad for health, the “high” feeling you get is very temporary and would get you sick eventually. It does not solve your problems, instead of resorting to these, face your problems instead and solve it.

Get enough sleep. Your body and mind needs sleep. People with less sleep would feel very tired and often are grumpy and annoyed. Feeling tired will increase your stress because it may cause you to think irrationally.

Like having a diet journal or a daily journal where you jot things down, have a stress journal and note times when you felt stressed and how you managed to overcome it, your actions and feelings etc. This would help you to keep tract of how you managed to overcome stress and what made you stressful. This would allow you to control and know your stress levels. And eventually prevent the effects of stress on your body.

Stress can be a good thing but too much stress in your life can cause you to explode or fall ill or turn depressed. Thus stress management is very important. Here are a few tips to cope stress and keep it controlled.
-Learn how to say “no”, know your own limits and stick to them, adding more to your plate can add on more stress to you.

-Avoid people who stress you out, this would reduce the stress you feel being together with them or near them.

-Express your feelings instead of bottling them up, this would ease your uncomfortableness, if you never voice them out, the situation would turn worse.

-Be willing to compromise, like this, you don’t put much stress on yourself or the other person.

-Be more assertive, deal with your problems, try to anticipate them and prevent it.

-Manage your time better, this would not allow you to keep all the work to the last minute and cause you tremendous stress.

-Reframe problems, try to view these stressful situations in a different perspective. This would help you to solve the problem and relieve the stress you feel.

-Adjust your standards, do not stress yourself because you want to achieve perfection, set reasonable standards for yourself and others.

-Set aside relaxation time, no matter if you are stressed or not, setting aside some relaxation time would give your body some mental rest and peace.

-Connect with others, spend time with others, laugh out with them and enjoy, this would give you something to distract your mind away from work. Laughing and havig fun is good for relaxation.

-Do something you enjoy every day, this would give you some happiness and would keep your mind occupied.

-LAUGH, it is very important to laugh, so keep on laughing to reduce your stress levels.

Effective stress managment and ways to cope stress would make you not only feel healthier but also younger and much more energetic than before. These 5 steps to managing stress would shape your life and also change your attitude. Most of the time, stress can be treated on our own, but for more severe or serious/ chronic stress, professional treatment should be sought.
The cheapest and most effective medicine is laughter. Have you ever heard of the saying “Laughter is the best medicine”? It is true, studies show laughter lowers stress levels and boosts your immune system. Laughter can distract you from your stressful thoughts and it relieves the tension that you are facing. It can also put your thinking into perspective. Try to spend time with family members, sharing jokes, watching comedies or just have a girls night out or a guys night out and have alot of fun and laughter, this would would give you a change of atmosphere and help relieve the stress that you are feeling.

Another simple way to relax is by breathing, it is as simple as it sounds. Deep breathing can be one of the most effective stress reducing techniques. This is so simple, it can piratically be done anywhere and anytime. When you are stressed and feeling the pain of your workload, just stop for a while and try out this little exercise, breathe in deeply through your nose: pull a deep breath down to the pit of your stomach. This rush of energy coming in will relax and revitalize your body. Quietly breathe out through your mouth with a “whoosh” sound. Do this continually for several minutes. This would ease you from your stress and make you feel much better.

Another way to destress can be through music. Music is know for its healing and soothing properties. If you are stressed or even tired, just listen to soothing, calming or even inspirational music. This would help ease the tension you are feeling and make you relax. Once you feel relaxed, and the tension is gone, you would feel much better to continue your work.

When you are feeling stresseddoing some work, just relax. A brief time out would help. You can lie down for a while, take a short nap or go for a small walk in a different atmosphere or just get out to breathe in some fresh air for a while. Do these small activities for a minimum of 15 mins and your mind can relax, not allowing you to think of stressful thoughts or feel the stress. This is a very effective way to let your mind de-stress.
Last but not least, quiet your thoughts, it helps you to deal with stress that comes from your own negative thoughts. A while of focused relaxation a day could lengthen your life, lower your blood pressure and cholesterol, improve your mental health, and reduce chronic pain, anxiety, and stress. Here’s how to discover the health benefits for yourself. First, find a quiet spot and rest comfortably. Make sure you’ll have no other distractions. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax all your muscles. Think of a word or phrase with special meaning to you. It should be something uplifting, like the word “joy”, or “peace.” Or choose a favorite verse or prayer. Reflect on it quietly, pushing aside intrusive thoughts. Continue to relax like this for about 10 to 20 minutes.

Meditation works best when you focus on someone or something else, ignoring fears and problems. When you notice negative thoughts, just say “stop!” to yourself. It may sound too simple to be effective – but it works, even though you may have to repeat the word several times until the negative thoughts are interrupted.

In this ever increasing and demanding society, everyone is living a stressful life. From students studying to people working, even housewives are feeling stressed. Everyone experiences stress, even little kids are finding studies and life stressful at a young age. Everyone in this era has their own busy schedule, including kids, too busy that we can’t slow down or relax and this causes stress and our annoyance to the slightest things.

Stress affects our health, it leads to mental and physical tension. When stress becomes chronic, it is a huge factor in causing illnesses and diseases. Studies have shown that stress can cause health problems directly and indirectly.

Those who have chronic stress, or are under high stress suffer from chronic tiredness/fatigue, though stress is helpful to push yourself forward, too much stress would make us less efficient and start to develop poor interpersonal relationships, which can lead to mental and physical fatigue which in turn leads to more stress and this often ends in blackout.

High stress can also lead to depression and insomnia. Stress can also cause obesity, forgetfulness, persistent irritability, apathy, lack of concentration, social withdrawal, increased aggression, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke and also cancer. The effects of chronic stress can be debilitating and widespread and thus it is very important that you ensure stress is managed and not accumulated to prevent it from taking away your precious life.

Stress Nutrition is very vital and it can save your life. A person under stress would make poor nutritional choices and this affects his/her health. Poor nutrition can affect a person’s performance, effectiveness, productivity, capability of reacting and dealing with stress. Hance, good nutrition is always part of effective stress management. Here are some dos and dont’s in stress nutrition.

Eat Breakfast Regularly – Those with a well nourished meal and most importantly well nourished breakfast have a bigger capablility in managing stress levels. A hungry person cannot start the day properly as the person’s body does not have enough nutrients. The person would get hunger pangs and would feel grumpy and annoyed, this would lead to higher stress levels as the body can’t concentrate on work. Stress can easily deplete the body of essential resources that keeps it functioning well. Too much stress can also induce the body to use up more nutrients which can cause fatigue. A tired person would feel much more stressful.

Not only eating breakfast regularly, the person should have a well balanced diet. Eating a well-balanced diet allows you to build up on the essential nutrients that your body needs to fight off stress. There are also several nutritional supplements available that would help make up for essential nutrients that may not be provided fully by your diet. Good nutrition is to keep your mind and body healthy.

Other than eating right, people should avoid alot of junk food, cigarettes, sweets, coffee and alcohol, these would increase levels of stress. When in stress, a person would either skip meals or find foods or drugs that make them “high” to forget their stress and troubles. These foods and drugs are not only bad for health, they take a toll on your stress levels. Alcohol and drugs give you a “high” feeling when taken but it is only temporary and would make you sick. It only offers a temporary solution to your stress. And these poor appetites and wrong foods would increase your stress levels.

Everyone leads a hectic life, but with little effort we can eat healthily to reduce stress levels. For example, choosing healthy carbohydrates, eating more healthy vegetables, having five or six meals a day etc. This not only helps you reduce your stress levels, it helps you with your weight management and your health management. Maintaing your health is a key factor in managinf your stress.
